Laura likes long walks on the beach and sunsets…. Oops! Sorry, wrong site!

Thanks for stopping by to learn more about me. I have been involved in the insolvency field for well over 20 years now (I won’t say exactly how many, as I don’t want to let the cat out of the bag about how old I really am!).

Over the years, I have had the pleasure of meeting some very lovely people with very unique and challenging situations, as well as seeing some very interesting corporate insolvencies.

I obtained my Bachelor of Business Administration degree, specializing in Human Resource Management from Brock University. I’ve found it very helpful over the years to help me manage personal interactions, as well as getting down to the nitty-gritty with numbers.

Throughout my career (or as I like to refer to it, my “previous life”), I have worked for large national insolvency firms as well as smaller-sized firms. That experience has helped me to develop my own personal style in helping people who are struggling with their debts and work out custom-tailored solutions for them.

Not one to back down from a challenge, I took the enormous leap of faith and opened my own insolvency practice in 2008. My goal was to be able to help people without having to answer to “the boss,” and be able to find creative ways to work with people. I believe that I’ve met those goals, and I’m so proud to say that I believe other people agree that I’ve met those goals too.

Both my practice and I have been acknowledged by others for our efforts, as we have won awards in 2016, 2017 and 2018 for Reader’s Choice Awards in Hamilton and Burlington in both Bankruptcy, Credit & Debt Counselling, and Financial Advisor, as well as being named as the Top Rated Trustee in Hamilton in 2017 and 2018. I’m very honoured and humbled by this, and am always appreciative of any letters or reviews that we receive from people we have met and helped. We’ve shared a few of these in our testimonials page

Sometimes, all we need is to have someone to listen, a shoulder to cry on, someone to  help us find answers, or just a cheerleader to encourage us on our path. That’s what I’m here for!
